PE-Lux receives Order from the European Space Agency (ESA)
The high-tech company Plastic Electronics Luxembourg (“PE-Lux”) has been commissioned by the European Space Agency (ESA) to manufacture antennas on textiles with print technology. These antennas are to be implemented in so-called “Wearable Textiles” for telemetric and microwave applications.
Specialized in the manufacture of printed electronics, the Luxembourg-based company Plastic Electronics Luxembourg (“PE-Lux”) just received an order from the European Space Agency (ESA) for the manufacture of antennas on textiles such as Kevlar and Nylon. PE-Lux will produce the antennas made of inorganic metals, such as gold or silver nanoparticles, on their inkjet printer, which was especially designed and built by PE-Lux. Printing of antennas represents one of PE-Lux core competences, since they are planning the fabrication of RFID-Chips on a long term basis. The antenna plays a significant role in a RFID-Chip, through which the entire transmission of information takes place.
PE-Lux will be printing two different antennas; one with a frequency of up to 30 megahertz and the other for frequencies in the gigahertz segment. During antenna manufacture, PE-Lux intends to mutually collaborate with the CRP Gabriel Lippmann and the University of Luxembourg for certain assignments. The project is to be completed in six months.

Last week in Brussels, those fifty companies were able to present themselves to Europe’s investment community. During the upcoming months, PE-Lux intends to carry out first round financing.
On the occasion of the “Benelux Venture 50”, PE-Lux, a Luxembourg-based company specialized and engaged in the manufacture of printed electronics, stood up to several hundred competitors and chosen by a jury of active venture capitalists originating from Europe and the USA, was deemed one of the fifty most promising developing companies in the Benelux. And as such, PE-Lux was able to personally introduce itself to the European investor scene during the 7th edition of the “Benelux Venture Forum” in Brussels.
