Plastic Electronics Luxembourg ("PE-Lux") is building a proprietary printing platform to print all kinds of electronics, using mostly organic materials (polymers).
Using a roll-to-roll printing process, PE-Lux will be able to produce low-cost electronics such as solar cells, OLEDs and RFIDs. The company also intends to license its technology and to co-develop products with clients/partners.
The cost savings arise from using traditional printing methods to produce electronics and not having to use silicon-based methods that are limited in size and are expensive.
The company has been founded in December 2005.
